Hosted by Karadeniz Technical University on May 8–9, 2026, the 2026 Spring Meeting of the Council of Turkish Universities Continuing Education Centers brought together continuing education centers from across Turkey. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kaygın (Director) and Osman Şalcı (Deputy Director) attended the meeting—which addressed the future of continuing education and institutional standards—representing the Bartın University Continuing Education Application and Research Center (BÜNSEM).

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kaygın, who serves as both the President of the Universities Continuing Education Association and the Director of BÜNSEM, participated as a panelist in a session that evaluated the current status of continuing education centers and discussed proposed solutions. The panel addressed strategic topics such as accreditation processes for continuing education centers, the role of these centers within the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF), and micro-credentialing practices.

Throughout the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Kaygın and Deputy Director Osman Şalcı met with administrators of continuing education centers from various universities. These discussions focused on strengthening the administrative and financial capacities of continuing education centers—which serve as gateways connecting universities to society—and on advancing internationalization efforts.

Through its active work within both the Universities Continuing Education Association and the Council of Turkish Universities Continuing Education Centers, BÜNSEM continues to contribute to the development of standards in the field of continuing education and to advance the university's pioneering vision in this area.
